Chris Barnes To Appear at Middle School State Championships
As part of 900 Global’s enhanced sponsorship of the Wisconsin Middle School State Bowling Championships, PBA star and future Hall of Famer Chris Barnes will be at Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley on May 7, 2016.
Before striking out on the PBA Tour in 1998, Barnes had an impressive collegiate and amateur career while attending Wichita State University. The two-time All American, was also a member of Team USA throughout college. He later returned to Team USA when the eligibility rules changed in 2008 to allow professional bowlers to be members of the elite squad representing the United States in international competition. Most recently, he received a coaches selection appointment to the team for the 2016 season, his 15th year to wear the Red, White & Blue. He has won more than 30 medals in international competition and was the 2014 QubicaAMF World Cup men’s champion.
Professionally, Barnes made an immediate impression winning the 1998 PBA Rookie of the Year honor. He has 18 PBA titles, including three majors to complete bowling’s Grand Slam (U.S. Open, Tournament of Champions and PBA World Championship); 26 PBA Regional titles and 53 300 games. He has won more than $2 million on the PBA Tour, reaching that level the fastest of any professional bowler.
Making his return to competition after back surgery in late 2015, BCAW is looking forward to having Chris join us at this year’s Middle School State Championships.
