Storm Doubles Tournament Awards Over $4,000 in Scholarships

Storm-logo_1Since 2005, BCAW’s High School Bowling Club (HSBC) has held the Storm Scholarship Doubles Tournament in conjunction with the Wisconsin High School State Bowling Championships.  This year we had 219 teams enter the one-day event held at Dale’s Weston Lanes on Sunday, March 6, 2016.  Thanks to the sponsorship of Storm Products, $2,000 was added to the prize fund that awarded scholarships to 22 teams in two divisions.

For the Boys/Coed Division Oak Creek’s Bradley Bautch and Ben Wood earned $450 ($225 per bowler) for their top score of 980; with games of 262, 209, 253 and 256.  Bowling in the tournament’s first squad at 8:30am, they set the score early and waited to see if it would hold up.

The Girls Division champions took a little different approach as they were also members of the Division I Championship team from Indian Trail Academy and had to wait to bowl in the final squad of the tournament.  Stefani Fallabeck and Savannah Gerou took home the first place prize of $330 ($165 per bowler).  Their winning four game total was 890, which included a 300 game.

Low to cash in the Boys/Coed Division was 868 (16th place) and for the Girls Division it was 823 (6th place).  The complete standings may be found on the WI HSBC website.

BCAW would like to extend our most grateful thanks to Storm Products and Leanne Barrett Hulsenberg, for their continued support of high school bowling in Wisconsin.
