BCAW Raises Over $6,000 for Youth Scholarships
In 2014 we held our first ever golf fundraising event, establishing a means to fund our BCAW Scholarship Program for years to come. Thanks to the generosity of our many members, sponsors and supplier partners, the 3rd Annual BCAW Scholarship Golf Tournament held on June 6th raised over $6,000! Additionally our 130 golfers shared in prizes and cash, totaling nearly $6,500.
One of the Bowling Centers Association of Wisconsin member benefits is our BCAW Scholarship Program. Scholarships are available to BCAW member center employees and their family, as well as a USBC Youth certified bowler from a BCAW member center.
Spring of each year, we award five $1,000 scholarships to youth pursuing education beyond high school. Each scholarship is given based on scholastic and civic achievement in their community. Dating back to 1995, BCAW has awarded $90,000 through the BCAW Scholarship Program! To learn more about this scholarship program to include our 2016 recipients, check out our website.
This event would not be possible without the tireless efforts by our BCAW President Steve Cieslewicz and our many volunteers. The community support we receive has been outstanding as well. We appreciate our relationships with the Foxfire Golf Club, Waupaca Ale House & Conference Center and the Comfort Suites Foxfire and thank them for all they do to contribute to making this a successful event.
