Congratulations to Our WI Adult Youth Champions & Scholarship Winners

 In News

Another successful Wisconsin Adult-Youth Scholarship Tournament is in the books!.  Thanks to the participation of 21 BCAW member centers, we had doubles teams from around the state participate in the state finals at RiversEdge Bowl in Janesville.

With the event wrapped up and entering averages verified, we’re happy to announce 16 youth bowlers will receive a share of $3,800 in scholarships!  This year’s event had 148 doubles teams consisting of a youth and adult bowler.  All teams participating at the state finals at RiversEdge Bowl earned their spots through in-center or local association competitions.

Teams competed in one of three divisions based on the youth’s age.  The divisions were U10, U15 and U20 with 32, 72 and 42 entries respectively.  All bowlers bowled three games.  Standings were determined based on total pins plus handicap (100% of 220 average).  Scholarships were awarded based on a minimum 1:10 ratio and included $500 in added money from BCAW.  All scholarships will be deposited with SMART and administered by USBC.   Additionally, first place plaques were awarded to our division champions.  They will be shipped to the bowling center hosting the qualifying event the bowlers came from.

The first place teams in each division were:

U10  Kyler Zeman & Christopher Roedink of Lakeshore Lanes with a score of 1,472.  Kyler earned a $325 scholarship.

U15 Trae Henrichsmeyer & Tylor Chamberlain of Wagner’s Lanes with a total score of 1,574.  Trae earned a $600 scholarship.

U20 Jacob Pitsch & Jordan Pitsch of Lakeshore Lanes with a 1,535 total score.  Jacob earned a $375 scholarship.

The “low to cash” scores for scholarships were:  U10 1,448; U15 1,489 and U20 1,470.  The list of scholarship winners may be found here.

We also congratulate Cody Weigel, a UW Oshkosh player bowling in the event with his younger brother.  Cody rolled the lone 300 game of this year’s event on Saturday, April 13th.  The video of his final two shots may be viewed on the BCAW Facebook page.

We thank all of our bowling center proprietors/managers, youth coordinators and families for supporting this annual event!  A special thank you goes out to Jamie Jones, our host proprietor at RiversEdge Bowl.
