BCAW’s Miller Lite Wisconsin Pins Over Average Tournament concluded on November 17th with 52 bowlers from around the state earning a spot to compete for their share of $3,080 in prize money.  All bowlers who advanced to the state finals at Dogger’s Bar & Lanes in Wautoma received $20 cash when they checked in for their squad.  With two no-shows, $40 was moved over to the main prize list.   A total of $2,080 in prize money was distributed based on a 1:5 ratio at the state finals.

The event featured two average based divisions, 174 and under and 175 and over with bowlers earning a spot at the state event through local in-center qualifiers.  This year we had 14 centers conduct qualifiers.

Division 1 had 31 entries, with Jodi Newhauser of King Pin Lanes taking home first place.  Entering with a 199 average, she capped off her 729 series with a final game of 278, to take the lead Saturday afternoon.  Her +132 score was good for $425.  The final check for Division 1 was +69.

In Division 2 (174 and under) we had 21 entries. Trisha Smith of Super Bowl bowled +77 to win the $355 first place prize.  She entered with a 164 average and bowled consistently with games of 186, 196 and 187 for a 569 series.  Low to cash in Division 2 was +56.
