WI HSBC Wrapping up 2019-20 Bowling Season
The 2019-20 high school bowling season is coming to a close in March with three of our top events. Dale’s Weston Lanes will be hosting our WI HSBC State Bowling Championships March 6-8, 2020 with state titles being awarded in singles (boys & girls) and team event (boys/coed and girls) This year 77 teams (49 boys/coed and 28 girls) and 161 singles (100 boys and 61 girls) will take the lanes, vying for a spot on our BowlStreamTV live broadcast of the stepladder finals on Sunday, March 8th. We will be awarding $3,500 in scholarships, including $1,500 made possible through the support we receive from the Wisconsin State USBC.
Highlighting the field will be the following defending champions:
Brystal Beyer (Manawa HS) – Girls Singles
Tremper Girls – Girls Division 1 Team
Beaver Dam Girls – Girls Division 2 Team
The Tremper team is looking for a four-peat, dating back to their 2017 win at Bowlero Wauwatosa.
As part of the HS State Tournament weekend, we will again be conducting the popular Storm Scholarship Doubles Tournament on Sunday, March 8th . . . also at Dale’s Weston Lanes. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Storm, we anticipate awarding over $4,000 in scholarships. Entries are still being accepted in advance, through March 3rd for $40/team. Onsite registration will be on a space available basis at $50/team. Register online here!
The following weekend, we will be hosting the final event of the HSBC season. The All Star Team Challenge will feature the best bowlers from each of our 13 high school bowling districts, competing for $1,700 in scholarships in both singles and team events. This year we will be in Appleton, at Super Bowl on Saturday, March 14th.
Our defending champions are District 9A for the boys/coed and District 4 for the girls in the team event. Singles champions were Jacob Zondlak (Dist
rict 3A) and Skye Derks (District 8).
BCAW thanks the following sponsors who make these great events possible for our youth bowlers: Classic Products, Storm and 900 Global. Be sure to stop by their booths at our events. We also appreciate the generous donation of bowling pins from QubicaAMF.
This year, we’re excited to have several rising stars from the PWBA Tour attending our events. From Storm’s pro staff, we’ll have Gazmine “GG” Mason and Julia Bond at the HSBC State Bowling Championships and from 900 Global’s pro staff, Cassandra Leuthold will be joining us for the All Star Team Challenge. Be sure to stop by their booth to purchase an autographed bowling pin!
These are two of our favorite weekends of the year! We appreciate all of the time, dedication and support from the proprietors, coaches and families who make these bowling opportunities possible for youth bowlers throughout Wisconsin.
