Nominations Sought for BCAW Board of Directors

 In News

The Board of Directors is the governing body of BCAW and has the ultimate policy and fiscal responsibilities of the organization. The board is elected by the membership to provide vision, leadership and oversight of the organization.

Board members should know the “big picture” of the board’s major functions. Most organizations rely on the board to fulfill five fundamental roles:  governance, policy & position development, visionary, fiduciary and recruitment.

The BCAW Board of Directors generally meets in person twice per year, plus by ZOOM or teleconference as necessary between meetings.

All board members are elected and serve for a term of two years.  At our October 4, 2021 Annual Meeting at the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley in the Appleton, the BCAW membership will vote to elect the following board positions:  treasurer, secretary and four directors.  All incumbent board members (David Bardon, BCAW Treasurer; Diane Mallow, BCAW Secretary and three directors Dale Elliott, Pete Riopelle and Dave Scherbarth) are eligible for reelection at this meeting.  There is also a current vacant director position to be filled on this election cycle.

To be considered for board service, candidates must be a proprietor or manager/representative of a BCAW member center.  For more information, please review the BCAW Board Candidate form or contact BCAW Executive Director Yvonne Bennett at the BCAW Office.  Completed board candidate forms are due to Bennett no later than August 27, 2021.
