In front of loud and enthusiastic youth bowling fans jamming the concourses, team and singles champions were crowned at the 2024 Wisconsin Middle School Bowling Club (MSBC) State Championships on May 4 at Dale’s Weston Lanes in Weston.

A total of 57 teams and 221 singles bowlers took over the 60-lane center for the state tournament, bringing to a close another successful season for the BCAW Middle School Bowling Program season.

In team competition, Lakeshore Lanes (District 7A) won the boys’/coed division championship while Watertown (District 6) took home the girls’ division title.

Lakeshore Lanes rolled through the 12-game Baker style team tournament with a 2,568 total (214 average) to take the state title, topping runner-up Watertown (District 6) and its 2,443 total. DC Everest/Wausau (District 9) finished third with a 2,291 total.

In the girls’ division, Watertown (District 6) totaled 2,089, besting Prairie Lanes (District 4) and its 2,069 total to take home the state crown. Wittenberg-Birnamwood/DC Everest (District 9) finished third with 1,935.

The singles event featured competition for both boys and girls in three divisions based on season-long fill ratio.

In girls’ singles competition, Addysen Stahl (District 7A) took home the Division A title with a 719 three-game series. Zariah

Birkholz (District 6) was runner-up with 648. Stephanie Becker (District 7B) rolled a 544 series to win the girls’ Division B singles crown with Bailey Richter (District 7A) taking second with 533. In Division C, Alexis Dorsey (District 8A) won the title with a 415 set while Aaliyah Griffin (District 8A) finished second with 337.

In boys’ singles, Dawson Kohl (District 7A) took home the Division A championship with a 750 set. Runner-up Drake Kalkopf (District 7A) rolled a 715 series, which included a 300 game. Chase VanWinkle (District 8) won Division B with a 662 series, followed by Keagon Eagleson (District 5) with 625. In Division C, Cale Massie (District 8) rolled a 668 series to win his second consecutive state singles’ championship. Kayden Krull (District 8) was runner-up with 583.
